First Year Programs

Your UConn experience will be a time of new adventures. The beginning of college life is incredibly exciting, but it is also a period of transition. You may be thrilled about the vast opportunities ahead, but also have some apprehension about what is to come. Remember, UConn is here to help.

UConn’s Office of First Year Programs offers classes, academic support and peer education opportunities. Students learn the smart approach to academic and personal challenges. Our popular First Year Experience (FYE) classes host weekly seminars and discussion groups that will help you transition to University life. You’ll attend class with other new students that share your same questions, concerns and anxieties about college. Class topics include study skills, time management and major and career exploration.
